This is a session for anyone who has completed domestic abuse awareness training in the last 12 months (covering an overview of types of abuse, who it affects, legislation) or Voices Domestic Abuse Awareness training.  It is is free of charge for anyone who lives and/or works in Telford and Wrekin. It is through a funded project via A Better Tomorrow and Telford & Wrekin Council – proof of employment or home address will be required for it to be free. If you live outside that area it will cost £55 per attendee.

During this interactive, online session the following will be covered:

• Revisit of possible signs of domestic abuse.
• How to recognise, respond and refer.
• Responsibilities of managers, HR and the company.
• What trauma can look like.
• Trauma informed responses to domestic abuse disclosures.
• Disclosures and confidentiality, information sharing and recording.
• Practical advice for your organisation, work colleagues and your wellbeing.

The training is suitable for everyone in a workplace – it will provide advice, examples, and awareness that can help everyone support a colleague who is being subjected to domestic abuse or who may have experienced it historically.  But it will also give survivors a voice to feel they can talk about anything they feel comfortable with in the workplace – become an employer that creates that safe, listening environment for everyone.

Each session will provide referral organisations, support resources, and any follow up information and reading.
