Some of us will have been subjected to abuse historically or may have witnessed it at home when we were younger.  You may know employees, employers, all genders, all types of relationships, varying ages, from different backgrounds, faiths, cultures, who are being subjected to or have experienced domestic abuse.

If you are considering this training, you either want to better understand how domestic abuse affects adults and children, or you want to update your current knowledge and awareness.

The session will cover:

  • What domestic abuse is – it’s definition, types of domestic abuse.
  • Legislation including an overview of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
  • Exploring who domestic abuse affects and how.
  • What other areas of domestic abuse you may not have considered.
  • Signs and indicators that someone is being subjected to domestic abuse – what may you see inside and outside of a workspace.
  • An overview of how to respond to and support disclosures of domestic abuse.
  • A discussion on barriers for victims and survivors – to disclosing, leaving, accessing support, and understanding historical abuse.

What you will receive after the training session:

  • Resources from the training session – slides, links.
  • Access to the Voices database of national and local organisations who can support domestic abuse, trauma, and other forms of abuse.  Included in price – over 400 support organisations and growing, updates will be provided regularly.

Who the session is suitable for:

  • Employees and employers.
